In their own words

“Martin Veasey Talent Solutions for me are different to many other recruitment agencies as they provide a very personable service for their prospective candidates. They very much practice what they preach!   When I first my Roheela for my initial interview it felt very much like an interview with the company.  She was very knowledgeable about the job role but also about the business and the team I would be working in, their culture and more specifically the management team and their personality profiles and where I could fit into the business.  This really helped me prepare for the interview in the correct way but also gave me an understanding of whether I felt I could fit into the team, which from a candidate point of view is actually very important if you are looking long term.  The level of detail provided about the role was also second to none and the role has lived up to the expectation set out at the start.   All in all I would recommend Roheela and Martin Veasey Talent Solutions to any of my network if looking for the next step in their career."

£Very Competitive Interim Rate (Dependent Upon Experience)

INTERIM SENIOR BUYER/CONTRACT MANAGER - NEW PRODUCT INNOVATION

"An interim role for an experienced senior buyer/contract manager to create a new procurement supply chain for an innovative nuclear project".

North West

£Very Competitive Interim Rate (Dependent Upon Experience)

Buyers come in all shapes and sizes-from buying stock for a retail shop to sourcing components for a large-scale manufacturing operation.

All buying roles have a niche element and particularly in the nuclear industry. Our client is a key player in the UK nuclear engineering sector and is in the early stages of a new project.

As such, they need an experienced buyer to join their team and create supply relationships with key contractors.

Initially, they need to partner with design companies to arrange the supply of professional design services for the project to take it through to manufacture. As the senior buyer, you'll be required to work closely with the in-house product design and development team to source these suppliers and manage the tendering process.

When the contracts are awarded, you'll then create contract review processes to manage the supplier relationship.

Ultimately, our client's vision is to bring a new product to market which will be continually manufactured. As the project grows, you will need to bring other people into your procurement team to manage the day-to-day activities while your focus changes to creating the long-term supply chain strategy for the final assembly.

As for your background, our client anticipates that you will be a degree-qualified, strategic category and procurement management professional. Your previous experience will include working within a highly regulated industry such as nuclear, oil and gas, aerospace, or petrochemical.

Ideally, you will have worked with fuel assembly systems, precision engineering, and automated process technology. However, as a minimum, you'll need to be familiar with how complex engineering projects are created and the various purchasing challenges faced with a new product development process.

Initially, our client is offering an 18-month contract for this position, but they expect the project to last 2-5 years before reaching maturity.

£35000 - £45000 per annum Excellent Blue Chip Benefits

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER - EMEA

"Experienced FMCG Inventory Supply Planning and Demand Forecasting Specialist required to manage imported Inventory ensuring optimum On Shelf Availability and On Time in Full Order Fulfilment."

Oxfordshire (Hybrid Office and Working from Home)

£40-45000 (Dependent On Experience) Excellent Benefits

Managing inventory requirements isn't easy at the best of times. As someone experienced in demand planning and inventory forecasting, you'll know that feeling well.

However, when there are the combined effects of a pandemic, container ships getting stuck in the Suez Canal, and the UK has a whole new world of international trade procedures to work out, it all becomes that bit more challenging.

But maybe you're the kind of person who's secretly enjoyed those challenges?

Perhaps you've been working as part of a demand planning team and feel that now's the right time to move into a role where you can be the subject matter expert? Or, possibly, you're an experienced supply chain manager who loves the analytical part of the job and could bring your knowledge to a new company.

Your background will include working in an FMCG environment, supplying goods to retail/wholesale/e-commerce. You'll need excellent supply planning and demand forecasting capabilities and be used to dealing with large data sets and modelling scenarios in Excel to ensure adequate supply to fulfil orders/promotions.

Our client needs someone like you to take responsibility for their inventory purchasing and availability forecasting function. They're based in the UK and supply domestic consumer products to an impressive portfolio of well-known retailers and sell directly to the end customer.

All their products are manufactured in the Far East, and the United States, so you'll be able to bring your prior knowledge of working with manufacturers in those countries. Our client doesn't export, so all the focus of this role is around importing and inbound product management.

They currently know their demand planning and availability forecasting needs to be more robust as they struggle for availability, so that's your first challenge to overcome. As a minimum, you'll need to be an advanced Excel user or, ideally, have experience of using BI software such as Qlikview or Tableau.

But it's not only about making sure that the factories produce enough products to cover your requirements. You'll also need to work closely with the warehousing and distribution team to factor in warehouse capacity and resources when creating your plans. As such, you'll need to be a confident communicator with all departments and levels of the business.

The role is based out the head office in South Oxfordshire for three days per week with the other two home-based. There will be the occasional need for you to visit the distribution centre a couple of hours away in the midlands.

To apply for this role, please send your CV quoting reference LX 799567.
