A great career development opportunity to join a high growth and key player within the commercial finance sector. Our client is experiencing unprecedented growth and has an ambitious strategic plan which includes significant capital investment and expansion of its operations.

They are looking for a high potential and commercially astute Finance Director to play a key role as a member of the senior executive team. You will report to the CFO. You will be a degree educated and qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA/CIMA or equivalent) and already operating as a Senior Finance professional. Experience of a financially regulated environment would be highly advantageous.

The finance function is robust, and as the new Finance Director you will ensure continuity whilst also continuously improving and developing financial processes and systems as the business grows.

As the Finance Director you will be working closely with the Managing Director, Operations Director and Sales Director and other senior managers across Credit, Risk, Collections and Compliance. You will lead, direct and coach the finance team and will be accountable for all financial management for this growing SME business (banking, treasury, cashflow, budgeting, forecasting, AP, AR). You will improve financial reporting, and Financial Planning and Analysis.

 

The Role:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the business as a key member of the senior management team.
  • Ensure strong financial management of the business, drive improvements in reporting, processes, and systems
  • Deliver financial insights to wider strategy, including investments to facilitate sustainable growth in line with business objectives.
  • Manage the finance function developing the current team, ensuring that the team have the training, resources, and direction to perform at a high standard including timely production of management accounts.
  • Understand, monitor, and mitigate key elements of the Company's risk profile, Identifying risks and opportunities to commercial plans.
  • Provide financial analysis to assist operational and strategic decision making.
  • Undertake financial due diligence on a wide range of future projects and business initiatives.
  • Support the overall business strategy and deliver clear insight into the progress towards achieving business and financial targets
  • Delivering the 3-year strategic plan, budget, and forecasts
  • Supporting Sales to Margin budget and forecasting
  • Supporting the Managing Director and senior team with External Stakeholder relationships

The Person:

  • Track record at senior management level in delivering and driving business strategy and performance improvements.
  • Ability to think commercially and contribute effectively to the business while keeping hands on with financial detail.
  • Capable of effective and objective liaison with the Managing director and senior colleagues.
  • Pragmatic and practical.
  • Able to simplify and articulate the financial impacts and outcomes of business issues to non- financial colleagues.
  • Qualified Accountant ACA/CIMA/ACCA with relevant post qualification experience of working as a Finance Director or equivalent in a similar organisation.
