Human Resources Director - APAC
"Exciting opportunity for experienced HR transformation and change specialist with strong roots in operational HR business partnering across APAC."
Salary: THB/INR Very Competitive + Bonus + Benefits
Location: India (Mumbai or Delhi) or Thailand (Bangkok)
Are you an experienced and driven HR Director with a talent for driving change and building strong relationships? If so, our client wants you to strategically lead and drive their HR teams and be a part of their high-growth business in the Asia-Pacific region. With ambitious business expansion across multiple locations, the Human Resources Director for APAC is a pivotal role to support and advise country leadership teams on key roadmap and initiatives whilst developing our client's employer brand to attract the best talent.
Reporting to the US based VP and SVP for HR, you will lead and develop the HR team in APAC across India, Thailand, Japan, Australia and other South East Asian countries.
You will be a trusted advisor to the leadership team where you will conceptualise and drive HR strategies and initiatives to support growth as they acquire new business. You will spearhead HR transformation. A specific focus will be on their talent pool - talent engagement and acquisition, talent development and talent "readiness" and succession planning across diverse markets and industry sectors.
Therefore, you will also be responsible for developing key HR strategies and improving the local country HR teams' skills. This will involve spending time in each country, assessing and mentoring local HR teams until they've reached a higher level of skills and experience. As such, you should be prepared to handle all types of operational enquiries from the local level. As you'd expect from this level of position, it has a strategic element. However, for the short term, you'll have to balance the strategic rollouts from the US head office with mentoring and supporting the country teams.
You'll also need to comprehensively benchmark salaries and benefits across the region to ensure that they remain competitive in the market. As a high-growth business, our client is winning multiple contracts. However, they must ensure accurate and competitive compensation and benefits information to attract the best talent and to ensure profitability.
After gathering information from each country, you'll have the opportunity to expand the small, shared services team to take on more generalised HR content from each of the country teams. This expansion will give local HR teams more space to conduct and strategically develop their operations effectively.
To be successful in this role, you must have a blue-chip background with extensive early experience in operational HR business partnering. You should also have experience in large-scale change and transformation projects, with strong communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge of the contract logistics industry is advantageous, but our client is happy to consider other backgrounds with a large blue-collar workforce. Your minimum 10 years HR experience could have been gained within a multinational logistics, retail or manufacturing environment and you will have existing multi country APAC HR leadership and transformation experience. You will be comfortable operating as a member of the APAC executive team whilst also being a highly visible HR leader and advisor for senior management and their operational teams across various industry verticals.
In return, our client offers an attractive salary package, a collaborative and diverse work environment, and the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing, global business with a significant presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
