Usually, when you see a job advertised for someone to manage a team of twelve sales agents, you would immediately think "call centre".
You'd get a mental picture of a vast office packed with people engaged in high-pressure sales techniques and KPI charts all over the place.
This one is very different.
As one of the leading holiday cottage rental companies in the UK, our client's core focus is on giving their customers the best experience possible, and this starts at the first phone call.
When customers phone the sales team, they often have specific requests for their holiday property. For example, they may have mobility access requirements, off-road parking, or a bright pink hot tub. Whatever they need, their sales agents work with them to find the perfect rental property in the correct location.
As such, they use a consultative selling approach to tailor the best deal for their clients. And that can take time, so measuring call times and aggressively pushing a sale doesn't work for them. That's one of the reasons they have been on the Sunday Times' Best Companies to Work For list for the past two years.
They want their customers to tell other people about their positive experience and leave fantastic reviews about the service they had from the agent.
That's where you come in.
As one of four sales team managers, your job is to make sure the agents in your team are well-trained and capable of delivering a premium customer experience. So, you'll guide, mentor, motivate, and develop your team's skills through daily/weekly/ monthly 121 meetings, feedback sessions and in-call monitoring.
As the company operates from 9 am until 9 pm, they operate a shift system, with managerial cover in place at the head office in Chester at all times. So, sometimes you and your team will work from home, but other times you'll be based from the office.
Our client envisages your background may include working in a luxury, bespoke or high street travel agency, an aircraft cabin crew team leader, kitchen/bathroom sales, quality furniture retail sales, possibly even a wedding or conference/events manager. Wherever you've worked before, you'll know what first-class customer service involves and have the drive to instil those values into your team.
As you can imagine, there are many other details to discuss, so please indicate your interest by emailing your CV quoting reference LX 931158
