We’re partnering with a global leader in the coatings and adhesives industry to recruit a Quality Improvement Manager for their fast-paced, dynamic Grand Rapids plant.
This is a hands-on, leadership-heavy managerial role where you will guide continuous improvement initiatives, drive cross-functional collaboration, and elevate safety, quality, and productivity across the operation.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead all aspects of the 24x5 Quality Control Lab, supervising a team of three technicians
• Train lab technicians and production operators in quality testing and procedures
• Ensure proper calibration and use of lab and production instruments
• Lead cross-functional root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Implement procedures to minimize nonconforming products
• Conduct internal audits and ensure adherence to quality management systems (ISO9000, IATF16949, AS9100)
• Collaborate with business unit managers on customer complaints and corrective actions
• Use data to drive quality improvements and lead LEAN/Six Sigma projects
What We’re Looking For:
• BSc in Engineering essential
• 10+ years as a Quality or Manufacturing Manager or Engineer level with consistent career history
• Background in adhesives, coatings, drying, mixing, or web converting processes/equipment within an automotive environment IATF 16949 standards and running Kaizen events
• A proactive person to drive continuous Improvement and be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvement initiatives throughout the plant to establish and enhance efficiency, quality, and safety with a focus on cost savings. Strong Quality Management Systems knowledge (ISO, IATF, AS)
• Hands-on problem-solver, coach, and leader managing team of Quality Technicians, Mixing & Engineering
• Excellent communicator with a passion for continuous improvement
• Experience applying LEAN, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methods
