LOGISTICS MANAGER - SEA FREIGHT & AIR FREIGHT - INDIAN SUB CONTINENT/MIDDLE EAST NORTH AFRICA ORIGIN AND DESTINATION
"A challenging opportunity for an experienced Logistics Manager, moving engineering materials and machinery around the Indian Sub-continent and MENA".
£50-60000 (Dependent on Experience) Excellent Benefits including Private Healthcare
North West London
Do you crave variety in your job? Are you finding yourself doing the same routine tasks and wishing your logistics management skills were being challenged?
How would you like to be a part of a $10bn company that moves everything from pallets of sugar to large, out-of-gauge machinery around the APAC, EMEA, and Indian sub-continent?
Our client is a UK-based division of that sizeable multi-national company. It needs someone with your logistics management experience to organise the freight of their broad portfolio of products via sea (80%) and air (20%). Our client's extensive portfolio of products includes steel materials, chemicals, oils, and large machinery.
Working from their North-West London facility, you'll draw on your in-depth knowledge of freight routes around the Indian sub-continent, particularly the Red Sea and MENA ports, to plan the most efficient routes for moving the products. To that end, your contacts with major shipping lines in the Far East, Asia, Middle East, and NW Europe routes will be invaluable to help you succeed in this role.
Around 60% of our business is with internal group companies and 40% with external customers, so you'll be able to test your communications skills, liaising between those internal and external customers, shipping lines, port agents, and freight forwarders. With many of our products being for the engineering and manufacturing sector, you'll be required to liaise with internal engineering teams to understand the exact nature of the bespoke plant and equipment you'll need to move.
You'll also have the opportunity to flex your commercial muscles in creating the most cost-effective shipping routes for all our customers.
Our client envisages you will be of graduate calibre and will have significant experience with moving OOG equipment, flat rack, heavy lifts, and breakbulk cargo, as well as containerised cargo. In addition, you'll understand the various countries' customs systems and documentation and have experience with claims management processes. Experience with SAP would be ideal but not essential.
As you can imagine, there's a much larger discussion to be had on the details of this role. So please indicate your interest by emailing your CV quoting reference 883706
