This family run business is a leading UK manufacturer and distributor of highly specialised industrial and commercial fittings and components worldwide.
They are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to manage a busy, fast paced warehouse dealing with the flow of raw materials into manufacturing and finished product range to their UK and overseas customer base.
Key Accountabilities:
* Manage and lead a small team of 6 packing staff plus agency at peak within the goods-in, put-away, storage, picking and packing warehouse environment
* Responsible for the inventory, flow and storage of raw materials, finished and ready to pick product, inbound and outbound shipments and inter-company movements between 2 local sites.
* Work closely with the General Manager to pick and pack products to specific customer orders and bespoke packaging and labelling requirements and ensure the completion of all relevant documentation
* Liaise with transport and freight forwarding suppliers and assist with loading outbound shipments to customers receiving inbound shipments from suppliers
* Work with the production and sales team to maintain control of all inventory on-site to including packaging and finished product range
* Maintain stock and storage facilities in an organised manner and ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures and good manufacturing practices and safety standards.
* Maintain close liaison with sales administration
* Maintenance of high service levels including same day despatch
The Candidate:
* Minimum of 3 years production/warehouse management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment including managing inventory and order reconciliation
* Trained to operate counterbalance fork-lift truck although training can be given
* Ability to multi-task and lead a team of permanent and agency packing staff within the warehouse
* Excellent communication skills
* Be able to take initiative and solutions orientated
* Highly organised and flexible with a positive attitude
* Strong attention to detail and with fresh ideas for improvements, solutions and use of IT in warehouse management
* Hands-on team player with potential
* Man-management experience
