Our client focuses on SME businesses with a need to outsource their warehouse & E-Commerce Fulfilment needs. A SME business itself, it provides efulfilment solutions for B2C, B2B & Amazon FBA Multichannels. Its customer base includes SME sellers on Amazon, Shopify, Magento and other similar platforms selling everything from cosmetics to stationary, craft materials, fashion.

As a result of excellent growth and impending retirement, they now require a Senior General Manager. Our client places a heavy importance on continuous improvement, so this is the perfect opportunity for someone like you who is driven, pro-active and innovative to streamline and continuously increase the efficiency of their fast moving warehouse fulfilment operations to meet and exceed customer expectations and continually grow the business. Orders are despatched via parcels carriers so experience of working to parcel carrier collection and delivery deadlines will be critical.

The role:
* Lead and improve order fulfilment operations including Amazon FBA, Amazon FBM, B2C, B2B and Rework / Repacking Projects.
* Manage all aspects of the warehouse operation to include goods in, replenishment, putaway, order picking, palletisation and order despatch.
* Lead, motivate, train, and develop the Warehouse team creating and maintaining a high-performance culture focused on working together, openness and continuous improvement.
* Lead a large team by setting direction, monitoring, and motivating individuals to exceed objectives whilst ensuring that security, inventory management and safety standards are maintained.
* Ensure all health and safety, and operating procedures are adhered to and that colleagues are fully trained and competent.
* Liaise closely with third party transport providers, ensuring smooth and efficient outbound logistics delivering to customers in the UK.
* Most UK orders (80-90%) are fulfilled from our client's warehouse; therefore, you will ensure orders are picked and packed ready to meet parcel express carrier collection times for next day and day 1 for day 3 deliveries.
* Run the business profitably and cost effectively, therefore it is essential to have previous financial and P & L management experience and grow with the business.
* Effectively manage resources to maximise productivity and improve cost performance (including recruitment, core and agency resource, equipment uses and pick times).
* To be accountable for all commercial/internal KPI's and SLA's, setting stretching goals, driving continuous improvement, and maximising performance.
* Utilise the WMS and integrated e-comm integrations ensuring accurate and useful data collection and reports for warehouse activity /productivity.

The ideal candidate:
* To succeed in this role, you will have a good standard of education with previous experience of managing a third-party contract logistics/efulfilment distribution centre/warehouse operations team including significant experience of managing first line managers/supervisors/team leaders.
* A fast-moving warehousing, operations professional, with experience of leading a team picking and packing smaller items for efulfilment orders despatched via parcels carriers.
* Experience of efulfilment operations to support orders received from online shopping platforms such as Amazon, Shopify, Magento, or similar would be advantageous.
* Experience of planning resource to meet carrier collection and delivery deadlines
* Experience of selecting and negotiating rates with parcels carriers.
* Hands on in approach. A visible leader able to strategically plan and contribute to the growth of a SME business which requires processes and procedures to be enhanced and developed to meet growth.
* This must include proven people management skills including recruitment of core and agency staff, training, team development, maximising performance, improving motivation and productivity.
* Your leadership and planning skills will ensure that you are able to coach and develop your distribution centre/warehouse operations team to deliver results - ensuring all stock is managed and moved efficiently.

* The ideal candidates will be experienced leaders and people managers with the ability to motivate and drive performance.
* Proven experience of forecasting and capacity planning in line with budgetary constraints and within a growing efulfilment warehousing and distribution environment.
* Previous P & L Management experience and strong commercial skills including budgetary planning and management will be critical to success.
* You will be mature, credible, and comfortable interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical skills, able to resolve complex problems through the identification of long-term solutions covering IT/process change.
* An influential change agent with the capability to facilitate and drive warehouse operations continuous improvement initiatives.
